Shyamala Menon heading the Chambers and Consultancy’s business development, marketing and public relations, strategies, manages and administers business and professional development initiatives while embracing legal digital and online technology and sustainability. Working with the managing director Anil Changaroth and the office team on the Appropriate Dispute Resolution aspects of the following:
Business Development - consider, strategies and develop business opportunities and growth in the specific target market of the Consultancy and Chambers addressing Conflict Avoidance, Dispute Resolution, Restorative Justice and Online Dispute Resolution ultimately facilitating client (including potential) building and nurturing relations, engagement, and retention.
Professional Development - Developing the Chambers’ programmes, workshops, webinars (including framework, structure, and text for the contents) conducted with several institutions and organisations in Singapore and the Asia Pacific including in Australia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Mauritius, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Supporting the Consultancy’s and Anil’s services in various consensual and adjudicative Appropriate Dispute Resolution (ADR) roles as Conciliator, Negotiator, Mediator, Adjudicator, Arbitrator, Conflict Avoidance Board, Dispute Avoidance & Adjudication Boards, and Neutral Evaluator.
Researching and copywriting the Consultancy and Chambers’ publications, presentations, lectures and workshops internationally – including Anil’s book Resolving Disputes, a Guide to the Options for Appropriate Dispute Resolution that published by Marshall Cavendish International Asia in 2019.
Shyamala has more than 20 years of experience in education, professional development training and corporate communication, she holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Language and Literature with Management. In the last 20 years she has worked in the Marketing Communications and Education fields. Since 2012, she has been with Julia Gabriel Centre, where her current role as Deputy Head of Department sees her managing operations, tendering for school projects, scheduling teachers, curriculum development, programme coordination, mentoring and teaching. She has taught a range of programmes in schools like Speech & Drama, Presentation Skills and Debate.
