Anil a Conflict Avoidance, Dispute Resolution, Facilitative & Restorative Justice and Online Dispute Resolution practitioner, is

  • Mediator - accredited with the Centre of Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), Singapore Mediation Centre, Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), Vietnam International Commercial Mediation Centre and Singapore Family Justice Court and trained in Investment State Mediation by CEDR (with the International Centre of Settlement of Investment Disputes & recognised by the International Mediation Institute)
  • Arbitrator – Fellows of the Chartered, Singapore and Philippines Institutes of Arbitrators, on the panel with several institutions including the AIAC and Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA), and trained in Investment State Arbitration with the AIAC and Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC)
  • Adjudicator- with the AIAC
  • Peace Builder having been trained in Facilitative & Restorative Justice (with the International Institute of Restorative Practice); Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategies for Business with University of Cambridge Judge Business School; being trained in Global Peacebuilder Certificate (with the Mediators Beyond Borders International; an Emotional Intelligence (EQ) coach;

  • and is the Country Representative (Singapore) for the ADR ODR International and Dispute Resolution Board Foundation.

Anil qualified and is admitted an Advocate & Solicitor of Singapore (1995); a Solicitor of England and Wales (2009); qualified as Barrister at Law (Middle Temple of England & Wales (1993); and holds a Master of Science in Construction Law & Arbitration, Kings College London & National University of Singapore (2006). Anil’s career also spanned with international legal practice with the arbitration with international law firm Lovells Lee & Lee (2008 - 9) and in house as General Counsel and Director of Contract Advisory and Dispute Management division of Davis Langdon & Seah - Arcadis Group (2006 – 8). His first career before graduating with an LLB Hon from the University of Buckingham (UK - 1992) was as an Infantry Officer for five years with the Singapore Armed Forces (1983-8).

SHYAMALA MENON

Shyamala Menon heading the Chambers and Consultancy’s business development, marketing and public relations, strategies, manages and administers business and professional development initiatives while embracing legal digital and online technology and sustainability. Working with the managing director Anil Changaroth and the office team on the Appropriate Dispute Resolution aspects of the following:

Business Development - consider, strategies and develop business opportunities and growth in the specific target market of the Consultancy and Chambers addressing Conflict Avoidance, Dispute Resolution, Restorative Justice and Online Dispute Resolution ultimately facilitating client (including potential) building and nurturing relations, engagement, and retention.

Professional Development - Developing the Chambers’ programmes, workshops, webinars (including framework, structure, and text for the contents) conducted with several institutions and organisations in Singapore and the Asia Pacific including in Australia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Mauritius, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Supporting the Consultancy’s and Anil’s services in various consensual and adjudicative Appropriate Dispute Resolution (ADR) roles as Conciliator, Negotiator, Mediator, Adjudicator, Arbitrator, Conflict Avoidance Board, Dispute Avoidance & Adjudication Boards, and Neutral Evaluator.

Researching and copywriting the Consultancy and Chambers’ publications, presentations, lectures and workshops internationally – including Anil’s book Resolving Disputes, a Guide to the Options for Appropriate Dispute Resolution that published by Marshall Cavendish International Asia in 2019.

Shyamala has more than 20 years of experience in education, professional development training and corporate communication, she holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Language and Literature with Management. In the last 20 years she has worked in the Marketing Communications and Education fields. Since 2012, she has been with Julia Gabriel Centre, where her current role as Deputy Head of Department sees her managing operations, tendering for school projects, scheduling teachers, curriculum development, programme coordination, mentoring and teaching. She has taught a range of programmes in schools like Speech & Drama, Presentation Skills and Debate.
